Scrappy Tails Breast Cancer Awareness Hop

Hey there friends!  I wanted to let you know I'm participating in a hop for a great cause over on Instagram.   You can head HERE to hop along but I also wanted to share it here as well!

Scrappy Tails Breast Cancer Awareness Hop

Today, we are raising awareness for breast cancer with a very “pink” Instagram card hop! Have you ever struggled to make a beautiful card for a family member or friend, who is dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis? It can be so hard to find the right words to say on a card & today’s hop will hopefully give you some inspiration on how to create uplifting encouragement cards.

The Scrappy Tails design team members have each worked with our new “Breast Cancer Awareness” set  to create beautiful encouragement cards. For just $19.95, you can purchase this beautiful set.

ALL profits from the sets will go to two breast cancer research hospitals, the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership in Everett Washington & the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa Florida.

Fellow Scrappy Tails’ crafter, Meredith (@my_4angelsdesigns) reached out to us to see if we would help her with her mission to bring smiles to breast cancer fighters & survivors through handmade greeting cards. Meredith herself is a recent breast cancer survivor. The owner of Scrappy Tails, Sabrina, was touched & wanted to help. This topic is very dear to Sabrina’s heart, because her mom, Kirsten, was diagnosed with breast cancer as well & has been fighting her own fight.

Together, Meredith & Sabrina designed this coordinating stamp & die set to help raise money for the two hospitals where both Meredith & Kirsten were treated. It would mean the world to us if you’d consider purchasing a set!

Coffee Lovers hop card two

 I'm back with my second card that I'm linking up for the Coffee Lovers Blog hop!  For this card, I followed the November 2022 Sheetload of Cards template from Call Me Crafty Al.

I used Cool Days stamp from My Favorite Things, Zig Clean Color real brush markers to color the image, Feelin' Frosty paper from Simple Stories and a touch of Unicorn Stickles.

Coffee Lovers hop

Candlelight Christmas

Hey friends!  I recently got my hands on some of the new products from Scrappy Tails Crafts Candlelight Christmas release.  There is SO much goodness packed in this release!  

I had intended to make one card for the Instagram hop but I ended up with three!

This was the card I had in my mind when I sat down to create.  It features the Slimline Poinsettia Stencil along with Hot Foil Bold Christmas Sentiments.

This one is 5" x 5".

When I originally sprayed the Distress Mica Stain sprays through the Slimline Poinsettia stencil,  I had lots of ink left on the stencil.  No one wants to waste that inky goodness so I grabbed two more pieces of watercolor paper.

And look at that mica shimmer!

After the first card was finished I just kept looking at my leftover panels.  And I ended up with these!

This one is 5" x 7".  It features the Slimline Poinsettia stencil and Hot foil Bold Christmas Sentiments again along with the Assorted Christmas Leaves Dies.

This one is a standard A2 size.  Slimline Poinsettia and Assorted Christmas Leaves dies.  This time I also added a sentiment from the Cardinal Blessings stamp set.

Aren't they all so very cool?  I love the three different sizes and looks.  I really can't pick a favorite!

What's also great is that I mixed new and old Scrappy Tails Crafts goodies!  Oh, did you see those gorgeous gems?  They launched a whole line of embellishments with this release!

Fabulous Fall

Greetings fellow crafters!  Fall has finally arrived in my area and that makes me a happy camper!  I'm lucky to live where the trees turn ALL the different colors.  Since it feels like fall, I felt a fall themed card was definitely called for.  I dug into my stash of old and new products from Scrappy Tails Crafts to create this mini slimline card.

This card actually got its start many weeks ago when I was playing with my newest Distress Mica Spray stains.  I created a couple of gorgeous panels out of watercolor cardstock.

Then I took out the Fall Assorted Leaves dies and cut as many leaves and bits that I could get out of one of the panels.

Let's talk details.  I cut the large leaf vein out of copper cardstock and glued it to the leaf.  I used the long, skinny lattice like die from the A7 Book Add-on & Fancy Oval set to cut three different colors of cardstock.  Next I used the smallest layering panel from the Slimline Shadow Box dies to cut a piece of light tan cardstock.  Then I ran the panel through my die cut machine with the Slimline Tiki Pattern die.  I splattered the panel with Walnut Stain distress ink spray and gold acrylic paint.  Once it was dry I used the Walnut Stain distress ink and a blending brush around the edges of the panel.

The next step was to use the next largest die from the Slimline Shadow Box die set to cut a panel out of a dark tan cardstock.  I also used the Hello die from the same set.  I cut it out of the copper cardstock and the shadow layer out of the same light cardstock.  Now I have a bunch of parts and pieces ready to go.

This is the easy part.  I glued the three colored strips to the left side of the light panel and cut off the extra.  Next came the large leaf.  I used liquid adhesive to add it to the panel.  I glued the "hello" to the shadow layer and added foam tape to the back before adding it to the panel.  I also took the little ball-like flowers and leaves and glued it tucked under the sentiment.

I glued the light panel to the darker tan panel and then onto a mini slimline card base that measures 3 1/2" x 6 1/2".  For the final touch I added Copper Penny Nuvo drops.  Fini!
