Simple Stories Acorn Lane part two

Popping back in to share my next creation using the Acorn Lane collection from Simple Stories.

Not only did I use the Bits & Pieces again, this time I busted out the Acorn Love stencil!!  I used Rich Cocoa Nuvo glimmer paste.  I don't think you can get this paste anymore but I just love the deep brown color of it.

I started with the glimmer paste on white cardstock which I cut out with the largest die from Trinity Stamp's Stitched Layers Stack mini slimline dies.  When I finally decided on what patterned papers I wanted to pull in, I ink blending a muted blue ink all over it.  I also added some splatters with the same color.  I pulled out the lovely gingham pattern in the 6x8 paper pad.  I lucked out and found the matching tag in the ephemera pack!

To dress up the tag, I dragged the edges through my Versamark ink pad.  Next I sprinkled on some gold embossing powder and melted it with my heat tool. I added some strips of colored cardstock on top of the acorn layer and put foam tape behind the big birdhouse element. All done!

Thanks for visiting!

Simple Stories Acorn Lane

I may have discovered my most favorite Simple Stories collection of all time...Acorn Lane.  I love pretty much everything about this collection.  The colors, the elements, the cute birds and foxes, those fun acorns.  You name it, I love it.

I started to play around with all the different goodies I have purchase lately and came up with this quick card.  Did I mention quick?

I die cut one of the 6x8 papers from the paper pad with the Dainty Scallop Edge mini slimline dies from Trinity Stamps.  I added another layer using the brown floral paper from the same Acorn Lane 6x8 paper pad.  I did go around the edges of the brown paper with a navy ink before gluing the bird panel on top.  These panels were both glued to a 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" card base.

For a little bit extra, I went over the veins of the leaves and the tops of the acorns with Mercury Glass Stickles.  I put some foam tape behind the sentiment piece which came from the Bits & Pieces ephemera pack.  Stuck it on the card panel and this card was finished!  I think it looks super cute too.

Stay tuned because I hope to share more cards using the Acorn Lane collection.

Toodles!

Simple Stories Autumn Splendor

Long time no see my crafty friends!  I took a bit of a break but I hope to be back more regularly with new content to share.  Lately I've been in the mood to create some fall cards.  I dug into my paper stash and came up with the Simple Vintage Autumn Splendor collection.  This beauty has been living in my stash since, um, 2019.  You know how it is with pretty paper!  It can be so hard to use it.  Well, no time like the present!

My first two cards use a 6x8 Paper Busters template from Jess Crafts.  You can find it HERE.  I love her templates.  You can pick and choose from a variety of paper sizes to suit whatever paper you are working with.  Let me show you the results.

Aren't they fun?  I used a mix of cardstock, the pattern paper pad, Bits & Pieces, Foliage Bits & Pieces and stickers from the Mini Sticker Tablet.  The only thing not from the Autumn Splendor collection is the cardstock.

I always buy the Bits & Pieces because they make for quick but lovely cards when you need something fast.  To jazz the cards up, I splattered liberally with gold watercolor paint.  Then I added the bits & pieces and the stickers.  Quick and easy!

Now onto what I guess falls into the fun fold category.  I saw a tutorial from Tami White (see it HERE) and it inspired me to give it a try.  I'll let you watch her tutorial to get all of the details.  But, here's my version made with more goodies from the Autumn Splendor collection.

First I'll show you a little collage of all the different views of the card and then I 'll share bigger pictures of the individual views.

This is the view from the front when it's tied closed.

And then each of the sections.

Again I utilized the stickers and the bits & pieces.  For these leaves, I used the Sizzix Skeleton leaves dies (find them HERE this is an affilate link and I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you).  I'm so pleased with how everything turned out.

I appreciate you stopping by!
