Friends Like You

Are you super excited to get your hands on the new release from Craftin Desert Divas???  I know I am!  I'll do my best to contain my excitement so I can share my next project with you!

This new Treat Bag die is just so much fun!  I love how you can customize it to have handles, no handles, ribbons and so on.  Possibilities are just about endless!

This time I colored up the Friends Like You digi stamp using my Polychromos.  I also printed it out on kraft cardstock instead of white.  I wanted to give it a more earthy/masculine feel and I love it.  I cut the colored piece out using the layering die that comes in the set.  I just love all of the mini scalloped edges.  I adhered it to a turquoise piece of cardstock and popped it up with foam tape.

The purple tag is cut out using another die included in the Treat Bag die set.  The tags in this set all have the stitching detail!!   I embossed a sentiment from the Short & Sweet Tags set with white embossing powder.  I also used foam tape on the back of the tag.  As a finishing touch I added some sequins from Moonlit Kisses.

Make sure you hop on over to the New Release section of the Craftin Desert Diva's store and pick yourself out some goodies!

Have an awesome day!

You can do it!

I'm back again with another DT project for Craftin Desert Divas.  Can I just tell you how much fun I'm having playing with all their digi stamps?  They have so many to choose from and they are constantly adding more!!

The little guy I'm going to share with you today looks like he has a can do attitude!

For my background, I scribbled some of my Zig Real Brush markers on watercolor paper and just used a wet brush to smooth out the color.  I dried it with my heat gun and went back for a second layer until I got the blend that I liked.  I watered down a little bit of black distress ink mixed with Pearl Ex and splattered it all over my background.  I love splatters!  Then I carefully glued some of the blue and green stars randomly.  Then I cut it out with the second largest die in Fancy Frames.  The black I cut out using the largest die in Fancy Frames.

The bear itself I colored with Polychromos pencils.  I was able to match my background colors pretty well!  The banner is from the Flag Banners die set.  As I didn't have any appropriate sentiments on hand, I just hand wrote it!  EEP!!!  I thought it needed a little something so I rubbed the edges on my Versamark ink pad and used black embossing powder.  Both the bear and the banner are popped up with foam tape.  Oh, and the lovely background paper is from the Doodlebug Back to School pad!

Ladybug bear

Good Evening my crafty friends!

Today I've got another DT project for Crafting Desert Diva's Digi design team.  Did I mention how much fun I am having??  I'm so thankful to Tara for giving me a chance!

Here's my card for today.

Isn't she super adorable???  I wanted to try a different coloring medium this time so I got out my Polychromos pencils.  I'm still learning proper tecniques and her head was a lot of space to cover! The blending is the hardest I think but I'm getting there.  After I finished coloring, I fussy cut her out. Along with two of the little flowers and the other ladybug.  Also colored with Polychromos.  I adhered her to the background with foam tape so she would stand out.  One of the flowers I glued on her dress and the other I tucked under.  I also scattered a few of the yellow sequins from the Citrus Bliss sequins.

Now for the background I wanted something nice and bright.  So I reached for my Zig Clean color markers and made a simple plaid pattern.  I did my best to match the colors I used on the bear.  Pretty darn close!  The background is cut out with the largest die from Fancy Frames.  Of course I also wanted a turquoise layer that matched everything else so I used the same Zigs to color the edges of white cardstock.  Ta Da!  This layer was hand cut and all were adhered to the white card base.

Once again I used my computer to print my own sentiment.  I used the largest 3D flag banner die.  I wanted it to have a little something extra.  I got my Copics out and used some of the very pale blues to give it a bit more dimension.  I then cut some teeny tiny pieces of foam tape and adhered the ladybug to the banner.  Whew!  I love how she turned out!!

As always, thank you for stopping by!
