Coffee Lovers Blog hop take 2

The Coffee Lovers Blog hop is coming to an end soon.  I had high hopes of making many cards but life has just been too crazy!  I did manage to complete one more.

My card today features another older digital stamp set from Polka Dot Orchard.  I hear that all stamp sets and stencils are still on sale for an awesome 37% off!  You better shop the discounted rates while you can!  The set I'm using is called Coffee Pumpkin Flourish.  You can find it right HERE in the PDO store.

And here's my card for today.

I printed the image on watercolor paper and used Karin Markers to color it up.   I cut out the pattern paper from the Simple Stories Cozy Days 6x8 pad with a rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs.  I added that to a dark brown card base.  On the flip side of that same pattern paper was the lovely green.  I cut a small rectangle and glued it in place.  I then spritzed the whole card with a metallic bronze spray.

While that part dried, I fussy cut the coffee cup out.  I glued it directly on top of the patterned paper.  Then I added Caramel Cream Nuvo drops.  I had a sentiment all ready to add but I decided I loved the card just as it was!

The Coffee Lovers Blog hop continues through tomorrow.  Head HERE to get all the details and see the tons of projects people have been linking up.

Glad you stopped by!

It's here! Coffee Lovers blog hop!

It's that time again!  The Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers blog hop is here!  I love this one because I love coffee, and tea, and hot cocoa!  So many people linking up their wonderful creations!

You can link up and find all of the details (TONS of prizes!) right HERE.

For my first entry I brought out an older digital stamp from Polka Dot Orchard called Winter Bear.  It's even on sale right now for 37% off during the big birthday bash sale on stamps and stencils!  Set can be found HERE.

Shall we take a look at my card?

Tried to get a close up so you can see the Stickles.  I colored the images on watercolor paper with Karin markers.

The Coffee Lovers blog hop goes November 13th.  I hope you'll find time to play along!

See ya soon!

Coffee Lovers Blog hop - Card 2

Hi there!  Thanks for stopping by to check out my latest card for the Coffee Lovers Blog hop!  You can link up, hop along and find all the details HERE.

I am using images from two different Polka Dot Orchard digital stamp sets, She Said Tea and He Said Coffee.

Since Polka Dot Orchard is a Super Sponsor, they are also offering a 30% discount on all coffee themed items!  Including their laser engraved coasters!  Just use code coffee2020.

Let's check out my card shall we?

Vintage isn't my normal style but these images just spoke to me and seemed like the perfect fit!  I also couldn't resist making another slimline card.

I changed the color of the images to be a dark brown, sized them down and printed them out onto Neenah Solar White cardstock.  I used the smallest die from Trinity Stamps Scalloped Card Panels set to cut out the image layer.  I mounted it onto a piece of dark brown cardstock just slightly larger than the white piece.

I also changed the color of the sentiment (from She Said Tea) and printed it onto Neenah cardstock.  I took a scrap piece of the white cardstock and colored it using the Trinity blending brush and Walnut Stain Distress Oxide ink.  I cut the white piece down with my cutter and glued it to the Walnut Stain piece.  I put a bit of foam tape on the back and adhered it to the card.

I set that panel aside and got to work on the rest.  I used a digital paper from Graciellie Design and printed it out onto Neenah cardstock.  I cut it down to 8 3/4" x 3 1/2".  I grabbed the Trinity blending brush and Walnut Stain ink pad and went around all of the edges.  I found some natural colored twine in my stash I wanted to use but it was a little too bright for my taste.  I just used the blending brush and the Walnut Stain ink and ran it over the twine.  I only wanted to make it look a bit distressed so I didn't add tons of color.  I wrapped it around the coffee paper three times and used tape on the back to hold it in place.

I created a dark brown card base that measuere 8 3/4" x 3 3/4" when folded.  I added foam tape to the back of the coffee paper before adding it to the brown base.  I also added foam tape to the white panel before adding it to the card.

I felt the white panel was too "clean" so I splattered on some of the Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I just smooshed some onto and acrylic block, added water and grabbed a paint brush.  To finish up the card I added a few drops of Dark Walnut Nuvo Crystal drops.

Thanks for stopping at my little crafty corner of the web!

Coffee Lovers Blog hop - card 1

Hello there friends!  Today I'm sharing my first card that I created for the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog hop.

You can find all of the details on how to play along and link up HERE.

My card uses I Like You a Latte from Polka Dot Orchard and can be purchased HERE.

I thought this would make a really cute shaped card so that's what I did!

I sized it to be a little bit smaller than an A2 sized card and printed it out on Copic friendly cardstock.  Then I traced around it, leaving a bit of a border.   I folded my cardstock in half and cut on the pencil lines giving me a shaped card base.

I colored the main coffee cup using Copic markers.

Purples: V09, 17, 15, 12
Pink: RV32, 32
Grays: C3, 1, 0, 00, W3, 1, 0, 00

I carefully cut it out along the lines.  Then I went around the edges with a black marker.  Before I adhered it to the shaped base, I colored the edges of the base with the lightest purple Copic.

To complete the card I printed out the sentiment with some of the coffee beans.  I colored in the beans with the same purple Copics and left the sentiment uncolored.

Thanks for stopping by!

Coffee Lovers blog hop and Polka Dot Orchard

I've made it to day 7 and I have another card to share!  Did you know Polka Dot Orchard is a Super Sponsor?? And that four new coffee themed sets were recently released?   Head on over to the new webstore HERE and check out all of the great digitals stamps!

My card today features the new Sack of Beans set.

And now on to my card!

I wanted to show you that you can make a quick card using a digi stamp even if you don't have a lot of time!  I printed the stamp out onto Copic safe paper and then used just a few colors of Copics to give it a little depth.  And that was all I did for coloring!  Add some great papers, a bit of texture, sponging and a pop of color.  Then you've got yourself a card.  I'm also pleased that it has a very masculine feel to it!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hop you are having fun playing along with the Coffee Lovers blog hop!

Toodles!

Coffee Lovers blog hop day 6

I'm still on a roll and created my 6th project for the Coffee Lovers blog hop!  Go me!

This is another SVG file I purchased from The Cutting Cafe and can be found HERE.

Here is a side view.

The plaid piece you can see on the inside is actually a pocket to tuck a gift card!

I can't wait to make a whole lot more of these. As always, you can find details and the link up for the hop below.
