Love Bear

Welcome one and all!  I don't know about you but I'm ready for a little bit of change of gears in my crafting.  I love a good winter card but I'm yearning for bright things.  Valentine's Day is here to save the day!  A perfect reason to work with some different colors.  Let's check out my card and then we'll chat!

I started with a white panel cut to 8 1/4" x 3 1/4".  I cut 1/2" wide strips in white, pink, red and dark gray.  I added a generous amount of tape runner adhesive all over the white panel.  Then I started adding the paper strips at a diagonal until the panel was covered.  Next I cut off all of the pieces that went past the edges of the panel.

Next I added white and silver splatters.  Then I set it aside to dry.

I moved on to the rest of the elements I wanted to use on the card.  I cut out four hearts in the same four colors using the smallest heart die from the Scrappy Tails Craft's Slimline Bird House Pop up die.  I wanted to give them some texture so I ran all of them through a lace embossing folder.  And then I sponged around the edges with ink.  I used the "love" letter dies from the Flower Vase Pop up die set to cut out foil cardstock in the same shades as the hearts.

The final element for this card is the super adorable bear from the Sweet Bear stamp set.  I actually had him in my stash of previously colored goodies.  He was stamped on Bristol Smooth cardstock and colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.  Then cut out with the coordinating die.

I glued the striped panel onto a medium gray card base.  Then I used foam tape on the back of the bears and the hearts before adding them to the card.  I used liquid glue to add the foil letters on top of the hearts.  For the very final touches, I added Wink of Stella to the ribbon and heart.  Plus glossy accents to the nose.  And that's it!

As always, thanks SO much for stopping by!

SheetLoad of Cards

Hey friends!  I know it's been a bit since I had a blog post.  Life has been keeping me busy.  I found Crafty Al over on YouTube who does these awesome templates to create "SheetLoads" of cards!  You can find her channel HERE.  I've been meaning to try one of them out but hadn't made the time.  Then she came out with a slimline "SheetLoad" for September.  I knew this was the time to jump on in!

I combined this with my current favorite patterned papers from Stampin Up called Gilded Autumn.  It has such an amazing fall color palette accented with lots of foil!  Let's see what I created.

I'll start with the group shot of all six together and then show the individual cards.

These cards were so much fun to make.  Fall is really my favorite season!  Remember to go check out Crafty Al on YouTube and her awesome "SheetLoad of Cards"!!! #suyssep2020 #showusyoursheetload

Thanks for poppin' in!

Coffee Lovers/Coloring Challenge day 4

Well hello again!  Day 4 of the Coffee Lovers hop and the Daily Marker 30 day coloring challenge.  Today I am back to making a card.  Let's take a look shall we?

I remember how excited I was to purchase this Jill Girl stamp from Picket Fence Studios many months ago.  I think this is the first time I have inked her up!  I need to do it way more often.

The plaid paper is from Echo Park's Coffee collection.  The olive cardstock is from Stampin Up!  I ran it through a coffee bean embossing folder and then lightly applied olive and gold ink over the raised portions.  The sentiment is embossed in gold and is from Lil' Inker Designs Coffee Talk 2 set.

Here are the Copic colors I used on the girl stamp:

BG75, 72
YG99 ,97, 93
E51, 50 and E000
E59
E35, 33, 31
YR24
W5, 3, 1, 0, 00

One more look at the card.

Here is where you can go to link up for both events!

I hope to be back again tomorrow with another project to share!

Dream big

Hi there!  Life sure has been crazy as of late.  End of school year, stepson's graduation, daughter's graduation (Saturday!) and my son getting his wisdom teeth removed.  Whew.  I'm ready for things to settle down!  Anywho, I recently ran across an artist with a product that I was really excited to try and I finally got my hands on them.  She goes by Kristie Taylor Creations and she has created her own line of shimmering alcohol inks!  The regular colors are called Sprakle Spirits and the metallics are called Royal Spirits.   You guys, these are amazing!  The big point for me is that the metallics are not thick like the Ranger mixatives.  These move just like regular alcohol inks, no blending solution required to thin them out!

The day that I got them I had to sit down and play so take a peek at the photo below.  I did my best to try and capture all of that shimmer.  It's FABULOUS!

This is my leftover piece and was created with Eris Green and Yasmin Gold.  Now, let's take a look at the two cards I made.

Here are some of the places you can find Kristie.  She will be opening an online store soon but you can purchase them from her directly like I did.  As of right now, she has 24 colors available.  Check her out!

See you real soon!
