Yet another challenge!

I promise this will be the last one for today!  This is for the regular monthly challenge at Gerda Steiner Designs.  Did I mention how much I love her adorable images?  They are just so much fun to color.  I tried a few new techniques with the copic coloring.  After doing the normal blending, I tried using the dot technique to add a little texture.  I think I need a bit more work but it was fun to try it out.

Added a few details with a white gel pen and Wink of Stella.  All of the dies used are from MFT Stamps.  I don't know if you can tell in the picture but the orange frame is popped up and the green layer is flat.  They yellow layers are also on foam.  On top of that all is the sweet little skunk who also has foam tape.  The hello is from Lawn Fawn and I hand cut the banner.

Thanks for looking!  It's been a fun crafting weekend!

Check out the challenge.  It closes at the end of the month.  Gerda Steiner monthly challenge

I am also entering this for Gerda's Design Team call!

From the Heart Stamps-May

I'm on a roll this weekend!  My next card is for the challenge at From the Heart Stamps.  The bird images looked to me like they were begging to be watercolored.  Since the image is a digital stamp, I printed it on regular paper and used a light colored watercolor pencil to trace the image.  I did it the old fashioned way by taping both pieces of paper to a window!

All of the coloring was done with Distress inks.  Either markers or the mini ink pads and a brush.  I really like the defined way the outlines turned out.  It's certainly not my usual watercolor wash look!

Check the challenge out!  It goes until the end of the month.

Gerda Steiner flash challenge

I feel like I have fallen off of the grid lately.  I suppose buying a house and moving will do that to a person! My craft room is full of boxes and chaos.  Very unconducive to my creation vibes.  I made sure to carve out sometime on this long holiday weekend to create!  Gerda Steiner's 72 hour flash challenge seemed like the perfect opportunity.

This elephant is super adorable!  I colored the main image with Copic markers.  The circle die is one of the new releases from MFT Stamps.  I used an embossing folder on the green layer and sponged all of the edges.  The curved edge on the green layer was hand drawn and cut as I didn't have just the right shape. The colored sections at the bottom are a CTMH stamp set.  Hello greeting is from Paper Smooches.  Green layer was mounted with foam tape as well as the hello banner.  Even if I did stay up until almost midnight, I am very pleased with the results!
