Hi friends! Kristina here with some brand new Scrappy Tails Crafts inspiration to share with you today. Scrappy Tails Crafts had an absolutely fantastic release in January with tons of heart themed products. You KNOW I had to add several of them to my collection! And now, Valentine's Day has come and gone. I don't want to pack up these heart themed goodies. I want to show them love year round! Time to get those creative juices flowing. There may have been a supply of coffee to help my brain along...
Hearts for St. Patrick's Day you ask? Why not?
Let's chat about my card. I fell in love with the A7 Lace Heart Cover die after seeing the video my teammate Sharon posted over on YouTube. That die was the starting point for my crafty session.
First I cut several hearts out of green and gold glitter cardstock with the hearts from the Slimline Heart & Rose Spinner add-on die.
I also cut out three green solid hearts out of cardstock that I had covered with Stick It adhesive sheets. I popped out the inner bits from the green rose hearts and added them to the solid green heart. Then I took all of gold glitter rose pieces and fitted them into the green hearts.
I took the A7 Lace Heart Cover die and cut out all of the pieces from white cardstock. I set aside most of the pieces except for the inner lace rectangle. I used it as a stencil to add detail with Pine Needles Distress Oxide ink to a 5 x7 card base. I also went around the edges with a blender brush and Pine Needles ink.
I took the A7 Lace Heart Cover die again and cut it out of gold foil cardstock. This time I only kept the outer frame. I popped out the tiny gold hearts (saving for a future project) and added strips of green cardstock behind the frame. I also added foam tape and then adhered it to the card base.
I decided the white was still too bright so I added Pine Needles Distress Oxide ink splatters. Next I adhered the three green and gold hearts in a shamrock shape. I used the rose die from the Slimline Heart & Rose Spinner add-on to cut out the green stem and leaves. For the final touch I added several metallic gold pearls.
Well, I couldn't stop there. I had left over pieces from my first card and I set to making use of them. Which means not one, but TWO bonus cards!
Mini slimline card.
A2 card using the leftover panel from the A7 Lace Heart Cover die that I had used as a stencil.
It's amazing how much versatility you can get out of the A7 Lace Heart Cover die. Not just Valentine's Day and not just 5" x 7" cards! I look forward to seeing what else I can create with this fantastic die!
Thanks for visiting today!
~Kristina
