Let's get tropical!

 Hello and welcome!  Right now I'm dreaming of lounging on a beach with a fruity drink or two.  Well, it's just not possible at the moment.  The next best thing?  Channel my dreams into a card!

Isn't it just so fun??

It features images from two different Polka Dot Orchard digital stamps sets.  Foundations of Friendship and Pool Hair Days.  These sets and many more are on sale right now in the Polka Dot Orchard store!

I cut a panel out of Cryogen Curious Metallic White cardstock using the Slim Braided Circles die from PinkFresh Studios.  I grabbed my blending brushes and some distress inks.  For the beach I used Scattered Straw and Antique Linen.  For the sky I used Mermaid Lagoon near the beach and Tumbled Glass near the top.  Then I went back in with Mermaid Lagoon and the awesome Cloud Edger stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  This makes it SO easy to make very realistic looking clouds.

Next I lightly spritzed the panel with water.  I let it sit for a few seconds and then dabbed it up.  Once it was dry I went in with Copic markers to some detail and shading to the sand.  I used E87, E84 and E81.  After that I printed the two drinks and the sentiments out onto the same metallic white cardstock.  For the pineapple cup I used an undercoat of YG61 and YG63.  I went over it with E39, E37, E35 and E33.  Umbrella is Y19 and RV25.  The straw is V05 and the drink is BG05 and BG02.  For the cup on the right I used some of the same colors with the addition of RV23 and BG0000 for the cup base.

I lined up the colored images behind the open circles in a panel and glued them in place.  Then I glued the whole thing to a brown slimline card base.  That's all there is to it!
